Words and terms are amusing. I
really wonder why a sick person is called patient when in fact it is the
caregiver that should be called such. Sick people are enduring ailments and
undergoing treatment yes, but not all are really that patient, and are they excused
not to be, because they are sick and should be treated with care and
understanding? The caregiver is the patient one, and if not, is expected to be
so, and should be so.
More than ever I admire the people
who are in the service of health and medicine. As for me, health professionals
and caregivers are the ones that should be called the patient, and not the sick
ones.
How patient are the caregivers, and
their compassion is immeasurable, to be able to take care of sick people
specially those whom they don’t have any relations. I admire and salute them
most.
I honestly admit I just discovered
now that I don’t have such big heart to be patient to a stubborn impatient sick
person, even that sick person is my husband himself. Am I not a good wife, or
in denial ‘cause I don’t want him sick? More than anyone else around who is
giving support, it is the sick himself that should have the utmost effort to
bring his health back to usual.
My apology, just some of my soft
tough thoughts, because I hate sickness…really.
I pray for a more patient me…
